In Mathura and Vrindavan people play lathmar Holi which is quite weird. After Holika dahan following the next morning women start beating men with lathis. This is how the tradition of Holi celebration begins in Barsana and Nandgaon. They play traditional song and dance together, spray colors on each other and make delicious food. On this day men from Nandgaon visit Barsana gaon and tease women and then in return women beat men with lathis and play Holi. People from different places visit this to celebrate this festival of colors every year.

Phoolon Wali Holi:

Vrindavan is very famous for playing Phoolon Wali Holi every year in Banke Bihari Temple.  Ekadashi is a day when people play this Phoolon Wali Holi with each other and this Rang Bharni Ekadashi comes prior to Holi. They celebrate with flowers and colors where everyone throws flowers on each other, dance with each other, put colors on each other’s faces. This year Holi  celebration will be on 2nd of March.

Widow’s Holi Celebration:

Earlier widows didn’t have the right to play Holi in Vrindavan and therefore they had strict rules to live their life. But since last two years widows have also got the liberty to Play Holi.
